Blogging is a form of Internet citizen journalism similar to a print magazine in format. In order to blog effectively, Miss Applesassy offers three basic tips:
First, keep it short. A blog post is not a book chapter. Net surfing is a click and go activity. Short and to the point will keep readers coming back.
Second, use visual aids. Pictures people! Promise never to put up a post without a picture. *Citing the owner for credit of course, and making sure to get those shots from approved sharing sources, as Miss Apps frowns upon copyright infringement.
Third, effective posts always help the reader in some way. It must either inform or entertain. (Preferably both.) If the post is all about you, it belongs in a scrap book, or private blog, but not a public one. That is unless you happen to be Brad Pitt. In that case, post away my friend, and be sure to send Miss Apps the link!
