This site runs on a premium WordPress theme called Thesis. Talk about Sassy! WOW, this Theme ROCKS!!!!!
(Hemingway said to never use exclamation points when you write, but this is clearly an exception to that rule.)
Chris Pearson is the designer behind The Thesis Theme, and his work is taking the web by storm. Not only does it make your site look great, but it allows people like me who know next to nothing about html, css, or php codes to actually get in the game and play with the big dogs.
It also optimizes your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Which basically means that without knowing what you are doing, Thesis will do it’s magic in the background, get your site noticed by the search engines, and bring readers to your site. That alone is worth the price.
It also has a really cool feature called Open Hook. This may be tough to explain to anyone who has never worked with coding, but then again, that’s the whole point: It allows us nubes to figure that stuff out without losing our minds.
Here is an example:
In other Themes, if you want to add some custom work to your website footer, you need to get into your custom code files on your own computer, write some html gibberish, insert it into the correct spot on your master file, (wherever that is), upload it to your web host using ftp, and then go check your site to see if you crashed it. If you did, then you need to figure out how to back out the changes without messing anything else up.
Sorry. That’s not what this gal wants to spend her time doing on the world wide webbernet.
With Thesis, you just go to your WordPress dashboard and insert your code there. If you did it wrong, you just go back to the dashboard and delete it.
Simple.
Here is a step by step example of how to add a custom Footer for Thesis Affiliates. (By adding this to my footer, if you hit The Thesis link at the bottom of my page, and decide to buy Thesis, I earn some moola.) So do that now. I need the money for my Trans-Atlantic Cruise and Jimmy Choo Shoes.
Step by Step Instructions to Add the Thesis Affiliate Link to your Footer:
1) Sign up as a Thesis affiliate
2) Copy your affiliate link to notepad
3) Copy this code to notepad:<?php echo “This site is proudly powered by <a href=’http://diythemes.com/thesis/?a_aid=PUT-YOUR-AFFILIATE-LINK-HERE’>Thesis</a>, of course.”;?>
4) Insert your affiliate link into the code
5) Go to your WordPress dashboard
6) Select Thesis Open Hook
7) Scroll down to the footer hook and copy the code from Notepad
Check the Execute php box and the Remove Thesis attribution box
9) Hit the Little Ass Save button
10) View your site and check out your new footer.*Be sure to click the link to test it and make sure it takes you to the DIY Themes site.
Now, go write a nice Thesis review and remember to be transparent about your affiliate status in your post.
